Join other grassroots organizers for a day-long training and networking event that will focus on environmental and social justice work.

The Grassroots Fund’s RootSkills workshops are day-long gatherings where grassroots organizers, colleagues and supporters convene to network, share stories and dig into both issue- and process-based skills-building sessions. We work with a planning committee ahead of each event to ensure a broad range of lived experiences and perspectives weigh in as we set agendas, select workshop topics and invite speakers.

We now know to ask ourselves: How are we talking about each neighborhood and what makes it unique? Are we introducing food justice topics in a way that is clear, data driven, and meaningful to a specific community? Do we have partners in the community that can speak to these issues as members of the specific community itself? Do the young adults we work with feel connected to us as instructors and to these partners we know? During this workshop you will gain the tools to think critically about the model you are using for your work including specific methods you can use to be aware of the way your work is implemented.
